$500 Grand Prize
Who qualifies? Amature local youth bands.
Where? Hawaii Kai Church, 256 Lunalilo Home Rd
When? May 16th. Battle begins at 6:30pm. BECAUSE OF TIME CONSTRAINTS, THE BATTLE WILL BE LIMITED TO FIVE COMPETING BANDS, pending order of registration.
A pre-battle sound check schedule will be given to registered bands.
This is a clear and dry event: no drugs or alcohol.
Due to time restrictions, bands will be given limited time on stage, 10 minutes to set up, and 12 minutes to perform. Bands will bring and use their own instruments (including drums and keyboard), amps, and similar equipment.
A panel of guest judges will select the winning band.
Other event activities include free food, interactive games, other live music, a guest speaker (following the battle), and door prizes.
Competing bands may peform original or popular selections, and are expected to have permission to perform borrowed pieces. Band music selections should be unoffensive and appropriate for a church venue. Music selections should be non-religious or political. Lyrics and dress should not be sexually suggestive. Bands are not to damage church venue property or equipment. Event Staff will enforce these guidelines and uncompliance may disqualify the entire band.
Addtional prizes (to be determined) may be given to runner-up bands.
