Early Learning Center Closure Statement
After 54 years of serving the community of Hawaii Kai, the Early Learning Center will be closing its doors at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. We are so thankful for the opportunity to have educated and ministered to children and their families. While the ELC may cease to operate as we all know it now, God's church will press on. HKC is committed to serving the community of Hawaii Kai and beyond through the preaching of God's word. We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings for worship at 9:00 and 10:30 am. The mission of Hawaii Kai Church Early Learning Center (HKCELC) is to proclaim the love, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to the families and children of Hawaii Kai and its surrounding communities by providing a loving, learning environment where Biblical values are the guiding principles and the glory of God is its highest aim.
Based on our Christian beliefs as prescribed by the Bible, it is our goal to offer a safe and healthy place where children can grow and develop physically, intellectually, socially, emotionally, creatively, and spiritually. It is also our goal to involve families and provide a developmentally appropriate setting. It is our desire to help each child achieve success while working at his/her own pace. Understanding that children learn most effectively through hands on activities and play, we strive to encourage learning through interaction with materials and other people. Most importantly, we recognize that each child is precious and unique in God’s eyes and therefore, is valued as such in our program.
