Discussion Questions

  1. When the disciples asked, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?", what do you think was primary in their minds?  Do you think they understood what their real mission on earth was going to be?  How do Christians today sometimes make the same mistake of trying “to do the Lord’s work in the world’s way?”
  2. Look up the following verses and describe the role of the Holy Spirit:
    • John 14:16-18
    • John 14:26
    • John 15:26-27
    • John 16:13-14
How do these verses encourage you?

  3. What does it mean to be a witness for Jesus Christ?  Based on verses such as Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:18-20, and 2 Corinthians 5:18, who does God call to be His witnesses?

  4. Why do you think you need the Holy Spirit's power in order to be a witness for Christ?
