Discussion Questions

1. Why is it necessary for the local church to be founded on sound theology and doctrine?  Along these same lines, why does what you believe about Jesus Christ matter?
2. Why is it critical that pastors, elders, and every church member understand and accept that the church is Jesus’ church?  If the local church is truly Jesus’ church, how should it go about making decisions regarding the church’s direction and activities?
3. When Jesus says He will build His church and that “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” does this mean that our churches will never fail and fall apart?  If not, what do you think it means? 
4. Why is it important that Jesus’ church is a pure church?  How does your personal purity impact the purity of your church?
