April 3, 2022 Preacher: Dan Wong Series: Luke

Passage: Luke 8:4–15

Click here for the sermon discussion questions or see them listed below. We highly encourage you to listen, think, and talk about the sermon. These are questions you can reflect on by yourself, with your family, or with your small group.

Discussion Questions

  1. What do you think it means that hearing God’s Word happens at a much deeper level than with just our ears?
  2. Do you see yourself in any of the first three soils? If so, how can you ensure that your heart’s soil is good?
  3. How do you know your heart is not like the 2nd or 3rd soil?  Give some examples of “times of testing” or “cares, riches, and pleasures of life” that might reveal a so-called Christian’s true heart.
  4. Describe the person whose heart’s soil is good.  Does this person ever struggle with doubt, sin, depression, or anger?
