Discussion Questions

  1. What do the massive crowds surrounding Jesus and the Lord’s eventual cursing of Capernaum (Luke 10:15) reveal about 1) human nature and 2) the impact miracles have on a person’s faith?
  2. Both the bleeding woman and Jairus overcame many obstacles in order to come to Jesus. What are some things that keep people from Jesus today? What does it take for people to overcome these obstacles and come to faith in Christ?
  3. How do the miracles from this week’s passage as well as the miracles of Jesus calming the storm and delivering the demon possessed man help us in our times of trial when it seems like Jesus is distant or even uncaring?
  4. When Jairus heard that his daughter had died, Jesus told him, “Do not fear, only believe.” How does faith help us overcome our fears?
