- Although the disciples were so near to Christ, they could not understand that the Messiah had to be delivered into the hands of men. What do you think distracted them from understanding His true mission on earth? Can Christians today be similarly distracted? If so, how?
- Why do you think Jesus initially concealed from His disciples, the full extent of the suffering and death that He was ultimately going to endure? Do you think God still does this today? If so, how do you feel about this?
- What did the disciples NOT understand about Jesus as they argued about who was the greatest?
- Why do you think Jesus used a small child as an object lesson when teaching His disciples about true greatness in the kingdom of God?
