Click here for the sermon discussion questions or see them listed below. We highly encourage you to listen, think, and talk about the sermon. These are questions you can reflect on by yourself, with your family, or with your small group.

Discussion Questions

  1. Think of a time when you had to do something really hard and although you didn’t want to do it, you did it anyway. What made you do it?
  2. What do you think was going through Jesus’ heart and mind as He made His way to Jerusalem to be crucified?
  3. In v.34, how did Jesus view the people of the city of God?  Does it surprise you that God’s chosen people were the very ones who hated, rejected, and eventually crucified His Son?  What does this tell you about the nature of the human heart?
  4. What does Jesus’ use of the image of a mother hen tell us about His heart for His people and why should this imagery stun us?
  5. Jesus was determined to go to Jerusalem to die for the very ones who would reject, mock, hate, and kill Him. What should this tell you about Jesus’ love for you and me?  How should Jesus’ love impact the way you love each other in the church, and even those who hate you?
