Discussion Questions
-
What are the two miracles that God did in response to Jesus’ sacrifice? What do they reveal about God, and how can we relate these signs to ourselves?
-
How can we say that God is both near to humanity and yet there is this separateness between us and Him? What causes this separation and what reunites us to Him?
-
Can you describe a very intimate time that you shared with the Lord? Was it during a relatively calm period in your life or amidst terrible circumstances? Why do you think it was so intimate? What do you imagine our intimacy and joy will be like with the Lord when we get to heaven?
-
How can we cultivate an atmosphere of the word of God in our own minds and hearts like Jesus or John Bunyan? In other words, how can we get to the point where the word of God just flows out of our mouths even when we’re in the worst of circumstances?
-
Why is it that we can feel terrible at first when we experience God? Why is it a good thing to feel terrible? How is it that, for the Christian, hope eventually supplants that terrible feeling?
