1. What do you pray for, and what should you pray for when you face trials, suffering and obstacles in your life?  How does your prayer life reveal the real you?

2. Jesus, the sinless Son of God, found it necessary to spend much time in intimate prayer with His Father.  Why do you think He did this and what does this teach us about the time we need to spend in prayer?  If we know this, why don’t we pray more?

2. What do you think it means that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us in groaning too deep for words?  Do you agree that the Holy Spirit is our perfect prayer partner?  Explain.  

3. Knowing that a key role of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Christ, how does this influence how you pray and what you pray for?

4. How do we sometimes treat the Holy Spirit as a guest in our lives, rather than the “Lord of the manor”?  What impact would it have on Hawaii Kai Church and our community if everyone at HKC opened up our lives to the Holy Spirit and gave Him free reign as Lord over our entire lives?
