Discussion Questions
- In your opinion, what are the dangers of prosperity, and related to this, what does contentment practically look like in a person’s life? How does being a Christian make a difference in how you answered these questions?
- In v.3 of our passage, Moses says that man does not live on bread alone. What do you think “bread” means in this passage? In John 6, Jesus describes Himself as the “Bread of Life”. What do you think He meant by that? In your own life, which “bread” do you seek after more? Why?
- Knowing that it is God who provides every good and perfect gift and that He will supply every need of yours according to His riches (Jam 1:17 and Phi 4:19), what should your response to God be in whatever circumstance you may find yourself? Why do you think people, even Christians, can be so ungrateful to God?
- Why do you think it is so difficult to remember God in times of prosperity? And, since you are probably reading this from a place of prosperity right now, how can you ensure that you do not forget God even as the Israelites did?
