Discussion Questions

  1. This week’s sermon began with a reminder that the Bible is filled with a sense of urgency.  How would you describe this urgency and why do you think people tend to dislike this kind of message?
  2. What is the danger to our faith when we lose our sense of urgency?
  3. What are some of the “currents” that cause us to drift away from our faith?  (Key word hints: Years, Familiarity, Negligence)
  4. How does knowing that Jesus is the Creator, the Sustainer, the Redeemer, the Sovereign Ruler, help us not to drift?
  5. What role does church attendance, daily Bible reading and prayer, participation in small group Bible studies, play in ensuring a person does not drift away from their faith?
