Discussion Questions

  1. The Jewish ruler’s daughter had just died and yet he still came to Jesus for help. What does this tell you about his faith?  Do you think the lesson we are to learn is that God will raise our loved ones back to life if we have enough faith?  If not, what are we to learn from this situation?

  2. The bleeding woman was considered unclean, and for 12 years was ostrasized not only from society but also her family.  What impact do you think Jesus calling her “daughter” had on her soul and on her faith?  Explain.

  3. What impact do the miracles of Jesus have on non-Christians today and why?  Would you expect more people today to laugh at Jesus or to fall at His feet and worship Him? Explain your answer.

  4. What are some things that keep people from Jesus today? What do you think it will take for people to overcome these obstacles and come to faith in Christ?

  5. What is the difference between the rich ruler’s daughter before she was raised, and the unbeliever?  Why is it important for us to understand this?  What should we take away from this passage to help us as we pray for and reach out to our unbelieving family, friends, neighbors and co-workers?
