Discussion Questions

  1. What does it mean to walk wisely, according to Paul’s teaching in Ephesians 5? What are some things that distract you from walking wisely in this life and why do you think we can be so easily distracted from what is truly important?

  2. In our sermon, we learned that “making the best use of the time”, literally means to “redeem the time”, “buy back the time”, or to “save time from being lost”.   How do you “buy” something like time?  What “currency” do you think is required to “buy back the time”?

  3. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, the bringing together of sworn enemies (Jews and Gentiles) into one family of God is “the mystery” that is expressed through the church and reveals God’s manifold wisdom to all creation. How could this wisdom provide practical help in a discussion between people who hate one another?

  4. Can even Christians live as though there is no God?  Explain.  How do you think your life would be different if you lived every moment as though you were in the presence of Almighty God?

  5. In your opinion what is necessary to understand what the will of the Lord is?  Does it take more than simply reading and studying the Word of God?  Explain.
