January 2, 2022 Preacher: David Oda Series: Luke

Passage: Luke 6:37–42

Click here for the sermon discussion questions or see them listed below. We highly encourage you to listen, think, and talk about the sermon. These are questions you can reflect on by yourself, with your family, or with your small group.

Discussion Questions

  1. Why is it so hard for people not to judge and condemn others?  Similarly, why is it so hard to forgive and be generous to those who have hurt or wronged us?
  2. Why should a Christian use a “big measure” when dishing out forgiveness and generosity towards even our enemies?  Will forgiveness and generosity always return to us when we are forgiving and generous with others?  Why or why not?
  3. How is the unbelieving world “blind” and why should we not follow them?  How and why do Christians sometimes think they know more than their teacher?
  4. What kind of “log” do you have in your eye?  What is required before you can take the speck out of your brother or sister’s eye?
