Click here for the sermon discussion questions or see them listed below. We highly encourage you to listen, think, and talk about the sermon. These are questions you can reflect on by yourself, with your family, or with your small group.

Discussion Questions

  1. Should it be difficult to wait for Christ’s return?  Why or why not?

  2. A mina was worth approximately 3 months' wages.  What do you think the “mina” represents in this parable?  Describe the mina in your own life and how you can steward it wisely.

  3. In what “jaw-dropping” way does God reward His faithful followers?  Think about your answer to question #2; what do you think it means that God takes away the mina from the unfaithful servant and gives it to the faithful?

  4. What misconceptions about God prevent people today from faithfully following Him?  How can you help to correct these misconceptions?

  5. Describe what it means for Christ to “reign” over a person’s life.  Based on your description, is it possible for a person to follow Christ sometimes and not others, or to obey Him in most areas but not all?  In other words, is there such a thing as a “middle ground” in which people can live partially for the King?  What are the consequences of not wanting Christ to reign over your life?
